Strong rains have caused the increase in the flow of the river, sweeping away, so far, five homes and farmland.

The rains have been wreaking havoc in the Pilcomayo district of the city of Huancayo, as the flow of the Cunas River has increased in recent days, resulting in the collapse of homes and even farmland.

This led to the collapse of five homes built of noble materials that were located near the riverbanks due to its force, forcing residents to ask the regional and central governments for assistance with funding to carry out contingency actions.

The situation remains critical, with about twenty families in the Pilcomayo district currently at risk due to the increased flow of the river. As a result, district municipal machinery has arrived in the area to carry out some work.

Unfortunately, it has been reported that families living in the area are refusing to leave their premises. This is compounded by the number of onlookers who have arrived to witness the situation in this area without taking necessary precautions.

It has been learned that along its course, the river is also affecting the Cunas bridge, which connects the Pilcomayo and Huamancaca Chico districts. As a result, vehicles and pedestrians are advised not to pass through this sector due to the risks involved.
