Rockslide on the Central Highway in Peru

On the morning of the 3rd of February, a rockslide occurred at Kilometer 98 of the Central Highway, in the Lima-La Oroya section. One of the rocks went trough a tuck that was moving on the road.

Luckily, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities. The concessionaire has completed the cleanup work on the affected road. Traffic has been restored to normal. The emergency has been successfully addressed.

The rockslide caused a temporary disruption in traffic flow, but authorities acted swiftly to clear the debris and ensure the safety of commuters. Due to their prompt response, the situation has been resolved without any harm to individuals or property.

Drivers are reminded to exercise caution while traveling through mountainous terrain, as rockslides can occur unexpectedly. Authorities will continue to monitor the area to prevent any further incidents.
