STORYLINE:

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo officially launched its three-year-long corporate social responsibility (CSR) project "Capture the Future" in partnership with Bangladeshi SOS Children's Villages on Saturday.

The project will facilitate over 100 public imaging classes across six SOS Children's Villages nationwide, thereby supporting the development of all-round education for children in Bangladesh.

Over the following three years, Vivo will donate smartphones to the group as teaching tools for imaging courses.

Fatema Sultana, a local student who participated in the project, told Xinhua that she enjoyed taking photos because she can capture daily life via smartphone.

"I feel very happy to participate in Vivo 'Capture the Future' photo exhibition and work with everyone. Thanks for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to be here with them. I record life, things and people with photos, what people do every day in daily life. We record things such as physical objects. We also captured the future via the phone."

"This project is a great initiative," Md Enamul Haque, National Director of Bangladeshi SOS Children's Villages, told Xinhua, saying that it will inspire boys and girls in the technological field and broaden their horizons.

"'Capture the Future' is a great initiative. It will inspire our boys and girls in technology (field) in the future, open up their horizons and allow them to have access to technology. Their understanding will be improved, and they can take more activities in the future, so I think this is a good initiative."
