An excavator was used to help rescue two bison that had fallen into a 20-foot-deep well in Singampunari, Tamil Nadu.

The guars, also known as Indian bison, had fallen into the pit whilst fighting each other and were discovered by a farmer named Panchavarnam.

The farmer informed the local forest and fire departments who rushed to the scene with an excavator to dig a path for the bison to escape.

Farmer Panchavarnam, who went to the field in the morning, saw two buffaloes lying inside the well and immediately informed the forest department and the fire department.

The fire department rushed to the scene and called the JCP engine. They demolished the wall of the well and made paths for the wildebeests to come out. Then one after another the wildebeest climbed up the path and escaped. Seeing the rescue of the wildebeests, the villagers clapped their hands and expressed their happiness.
