In a major development, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that the 98th Division has launched a divisional operation in Khan Yunis, called 'Circling the West.' This operation comes in the wake of a series of operations led by the division in the area.

Under the cover of darkness, the forces of the 98th Division entered the 'Hamad' area in western Khan Yunis, which is known to contain Hamas infrastructure. Intelligence reports suggest that Hamas members who have fled combat zones in Khan Yunis are hiding in this area.

The Givati Brigade and the 7th Armored Brigade, along with soldiers from the Commando Brigade, encircled the area as part of the operation. They targeted Hamas infrastructure, including weapons storage facilities, hideout apartments, and infrastructure used by senior Hamas operatives.

The operation began with strikes on numerous targets from both the air and the ground, with ongoing air support. In an effort to protect civilians, a humanitarian evacuation corridor was established to allow them to exit the area safely. At the same time, the forces are preventing Hamas members from fleeing the area, leading to the apprehension of dozens of individuals who attempted to escape.

These captured Hamas members are now being interrogated by the forces, providing valuable information for further combat operations.
