Five people were killed and one person was wounded on Tuesday in an accident on a motorway in Istanbul, Türkiye, local media reported.
The accident happened when a car traveling on a motorway struck pedestrians attempting to cross the road in the Pendik district on the Asian side of the city, according to CNN Turk broadcaster.
It noted that all five pedestrians lost their lives, while the car driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle, was subsequently rescued and swiftly transported to a hospital.
