Shooting star streaks across night sky by in Thailand
This is the spectacular moment a shooting star whizzed through the sky in Thailand.
A motorist was driving on a busy road when her dashcam camera captured the meteor overhead in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 4.
The celestial object was seen streaking across the night sky leaving the motorist in awe of the view.
The Thai Astronomical Society (TAS) confirmed that the large fireball spotted in the night sky was a meteor and not a piece of space debris.
A meteor, also sometimes called a shooting star or falling star, is a streak of light seen in the sky when a piece of rock or metal from space burns up as it enters the Earth's atmosphere.
The majority of meteors entering Earth's atmosphere move at very high speeds, often exceeding 70 km/s. This rapid speed causes them to heat up and glow.
