A taxidermist has shared his latest shocking, yet popular, Valentine’s Day creations – including dead rats and baby chick’s feet.

Jack Devaney, 29, often hits the headlines due to his bizarre taxidermy creations, including a rabbit toaster, chicken magnets, and duckling skin mirrors.

He began his now full-time career seven years ago after skinning and stuffing a mouse in his mum’s back garden to impress his girlfriend.

Since then, the Mancunian living in Plymouth has sold hundreds of the designs, with his most recent romantic collection for Valentine’s Day selling out in minutes.

“I’ve made little roses out of chicken toes and mouse ears in tiny glass cloches – like the ones from Beauty and The Beast,” Jack told What's The Jam.

“Making them is quite fun and different to my usual creations because I’ve used baby chicken feet.

“I defrost the babies, cut their legs off just below the knee, and then dry them out.

“I picked out the best ones for stems and then harvested the mouse ears by cutting and curling each one to resemble the petals of a rose.”

Jack, who keeps the love alive with his girlfriend through gifting his bizarre creations, has also turned rats into the epitome of love in the past – by turning their tails into the shape of a heart.

He said: “I take the back half of a rat and sew its tail into the shape of a love heart.

“You know, to make them romantic.

“I’ve also released some photos of my past creations in ‘intimate positions’ which have been a hit.

“One of the most popular ones is of a rat person – the head of a rat and the body of an action figure – making love to a doll from behind.”

In a post shared on Instagram, which has racked up over 900 likes, he reveals the lucky doll in question; who sports a duckling head.

He captioned the image: “Face: down. Ass, up.

“Her head is made from a duckling's head. Yes, the bra is removable.” [sic]

Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many people left either in stitches – or horrified.

“Not my proudest tug,” Alex said.

Someone else added: “This man has taken things too far.”

“Top down windows up that’s the way I like my duck,” another user commented.

Elise added: “U scare me sometimes bro.” [sic]

“I don’t know how to feel about this form of taxidermy,” someone else said.

Jack, who is a self-proclaimed “bad taxidermist”, has offered discounts on his websites for cupids looking to woo their potential matches.

Anything relating to “bumholes, genitalia, and dating” came with a 14% discount.

And if dead animals aren't the way to your lover’s heart, he also has a book full of dating ideas and chat-up lines to get romantically involved with an antique table.

Jack aims to make people laugh with his creations and enjoys seeing the reaction from potential punters.

He added: “It’s a mint feeling knowing that something you’ve done has made people laugh, that’s why I like taking my stuff to art markets and craft fairs.

“Recently, I’ve been turned down a lot because people sometimes think it’s a bit weird and it freaks them out.

“It’ll be nice if I do have children one day to crack open a box of chocolates from years gone by and instead of there being a sewing kit or other bits and bobs, there’ll be things made from dead rats.

“Probably not a great heirloom, but there you go.”
