Surveillance cameras captured an amazing video of a curious giant panda wandering around a family's home in the city of Yaan, in China's south-western Sichuan province, in the late hours of March 3.

The footage shows the panda bear sniffing around in the dark, looking for something to eat before it eventually moves to a nearby garden. During the panda's visit, a small cat followed it around curiously.

The giant panda, known for its distinctive black-and-white coat and rotund body, is a bear species native to China. The species is classified as 'Vulnerable on the IUCN's Red List of Threatened Species, with only around 1,800 remaining in the wild.

Habitat destruction and low birth rates are the primary reasons for their endangered status.
