This is the dramatic moment a motorcyclist carrying dozens of unlit firecrackers abandoned his bike and ran for safety when the explosives suddenly went off.

The incident was captured on surveillance cameras from a residential community in Foshan, China, on Wednesday morning, February 28.

In the video, the bald man was seen steering the motorcycle along a street with one arm and the fireworks box sitting against his chest.

All of a sudden, thick white smoke surrounded the man as dozens of blasts went off, forcing him to drop the vehicle and run away.

As he ran aside, narrowly avoiding serious burns, more firecrackers spilt out of the dropped box and scattered all over the street.

Seconds later, the explosions stopped and the smoke gradually vanished. Realising the coast was clear, the man returned to his bike, threw the box aside and drove away.
