Two forest fires have broken out on Tuesday in the Valencian municipalities of Carlet and Real, just over 10 kilometers apart from each other.

The fire in Real, near Montroy and Montserrat, started at 12:40 pm in the Siscar area, where two teams from the Chiva and Torrent fire stations are working, along with two units from the Generalitat’s forest firefighters and another four from the Provincial Consortium.

The progression of the flames in an area with numerous homes has forced firefighters to work on their protection and proceed with the evacuation of the Serreta Alta and Serreta Baixa urbanizations. However, firefighters state that the situation is improving by mid-afternoon.

The other fire, in Carlet, started half an hour earlier near the urban area in a vegetation area and has also affected a pine forest, being stabilized in the early afternoon.

Three aerial resources, two units from the Generalitat's forest firefighters, and two teams from the Provincial Consortium have been working there throughout the day.

Furthermore, the Special Fire Plan has been activated due to the close proximity of the flames to the large number of scattered homes in the area.
