Forces from Battalion 98 are intensifying their efforts in the ongoing 'Western Crown' operation in the Hamed neighborhood in western Khan Yunis, targeting members of Hamas in the area.

Fighters from the Maglan, Egoz units, and the Shayetet 13 conducted a covert operation in the neighborhood, moving stealthily from building to building to dismantle the infrastructure used by Hamas in the 'Hamed Towers,' large structures utilized by the group.

During the operation, members of the Commando and Shayetet units apprehended several Hamas operatives, including a sniper unit commander and two team leaders. A significant cache of weapons, including rifles, grenades, explosive devices, and ammunition, was seized during the raid.

In addition to the successful arrests and weapons seizures, combat teams from the 7th and Givati brigades are also actively engaging with networks in the area. The 7th Division, in cooperation with Unit 504 and the Shin Bet, has apprehended approximately 250 members linked to Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, some of whom were involved in previous attacks.

The captured individuals are currently undergoing interrogation to gather valuable intelligence that will aid in further operations against extremist groups in the region.
