160th SOAR (A) Refuels Mid-Air During Harsh Conditions at Arctic Edge 24

In a display of precision and skill, a MC-130J Commando II from the 27th Special Operations Wing successfully refueled a MH-47G Chinook helicopter belonging to the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) during Arctic Edge 24 in the Alaskan wilderness on March 2, 2024.
Arctic Edge 24 brought together over 400 joint and allied Special Operators for training in extreme cold conditions. This exercise aimed to enhance Special Operations Forces (SOF) readiness in areas such as long range fires and movements, special reconnaissance, rapid resupply, personnel recovery, and medical care in the challenging Arctic environment.
The aerial refueling operation demonstrated the seamless coordination and capabilities of these specialized units in executing complex missions.
