This is the atmosphere in the Banuaran area, Padang city after floods as high as 7 meters hit the area from March 7 2024. Because on March 8 2024 morning the water receded again, residents were seen trying to clean their houses from mud and flood material.

Apart from that, residents also tried to save their valuables. Afrizal said "my house can no longer be placed, the house is covered in mud and wood, all my electronics are damaged under water."

Meanwhile, the village head of Banuaran Devrison said "500 of my residents were affected by the flood, 5 of them were babies and we evacuated all of them to the school building and the village head's office."

Currently the Padang city government has distributed a number of clean clothes, ready-to-eat food and baby equipment.

Apart from the city of Padang, the West Sumatra provincial government also confirmed that in a number of areas landslides had blocked road access, buried residents' houses and dozens of people were declared buried during the search.
