In a heartwrenching display of courage and compassion, a New York police officer has been lauded for his heroic efforts to save a woman in distress on the Brooklyn Bridge.

The incident, captured on bodycam footage dated March 6, shows two officers arriving at the scene and desperately pleading with the woman not to jump. Despite the treacherous conditions of rain and slippery surfaces, Lieutenant Kim bravely climbed the bridge to reach the woman, offering words of reassurance and support.

“We got you. Don’t do this,” Kim can be heard saying in the video, urging the woman to reconsider her actions and reminding her that she is not alone in her struggles. The New York Police Department commended Kim for his quick thinking and selfless actions in a statement released following the incident.
