This morning Dubai braces heavy rains and thunder storm The National Emergency Crisis Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has earlier issued a severe weather warning for the UAE this weekend.

NCEMA has provided safety guidelines on Friday, ahead of the anticipated bad weather.

Dubai Police has responded with a safety alert issued to all residents via mobile phone on the evening of Friday March 8.

The warning sent at 9.58pm said: “Dubai is expected within the next few hours to experience adverse weather conditions.

“Avoid beaches, refrain from sailing, stay clear of valleys and areas prone to flash floods, exercise caution, drive with care and heed the advice of the authorities (Dubai Police).”


NCEMA said on X: “We urge the public to comply with the instructions and guidance issued by the official authorities, and to exercise caution during the upcoming severe weather conditions, refraining from leaving their homes unless absolutely necessary.”

The authority has warned that tourism events and activities could be cancelled but that the decision to do so will be left with local emergency crisis teams.

Forecasts throughout the week have said that there is a high chance of rain across most emirates including Dubai.
