Assisted by the local community, the joint team struggled to evacuate landslide victims in the Tarusan sub-district, southern coastal district, West Sumatra province.

As a result of the landslide, three cars and one motorbike rider were dragged into the Batang Tarusan River. Seven people were reported for this incident, and all the victims were evacuated.

Rain reaching a height of 320 millimeters has hit West Sumatra province since Thursday, March 7. This condition, which has been going on for three days, has only recently been able to receive treatment from the local government due to the complete cutoff of access to the connecting road, leaving residents isolated.

In an interim report issued by the local disaster management agency, 20 residents were reported dead, of whom 14 had been evacuated, while six others were in the process of being searched.
