Northeast China's Suifenhe port on the China-Russia border has seen a steady increase in China-Europe freight train trips, thanks to improved efficiency of train management and cargo clearance.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): SHAO WENBIN, Staff member, China Railway Harbin Bureau Group Co., Ltd.
"We strengthen the coordination mechanism of international transportation, and continue to make efforts in transport organization and dynamic management of China-Europe freight trains.
In recent years, we have deployed a new crane for containers, greatly improving the operation efficiency."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): YANG FANG, Customs official
"Suifenhe Customs comprehensively promote the construction of smart customs and smart ports, to facilitate the data sharing among customs, trains and enterprises.
At the same time, we have also built a priority service platform with measures to boost customs clearance for the China-Europe freight trains."

The China-Europe freight train service has three main corridors -- western, eastern, and middle -- with the Suifenhe port on the eastern corridor.

According to statistics, over 2,500 China-Europe freight trains have passed through Suifenhe port since 2018.
