A teenage protester was arrested while joining a demonstration at Starbucks on Sunday over the price of its vegan milk.

The youngster, named Evan, and several of his relatives were holding the rally when police intervened at the coffee store in New Independence and Hamlin in Florida on Sunday afternoon.

Dramatic video footage shows Evan gathering up his protest signs as officers push him face-down onto a table and handcuff him.

His pregnant mother, Shannon Blair, pleaded for them to stop. Evan was held in police custody along with his stepfather.

Shannon said she is working to secure her son's release. She said she was shocked at the treatment of her son, drawing parallels to the cruelty of the dairy industry.

She highlighted the separation of calves from their mothers in the industry, likening it to the forceful separation she witnessed with her son.

Despite Starbucks publicly acknowledging the environmental benefits of dairy-free milk and their positive impact on furthering its environmental goals, the company continues to charge extra for such options, in stark contrast to its competitors who offer vegan milk at no additional cost.

In response to the incident, PETA, known for its advocacy against animal cruelty, stressed the importance of kindness towards all living beings and offered resources such as Empathy Kits for those in need of guidance.
