A heartwarming story out of Georgia is making headlines as a Gwinnett County Police officer is being hailed as a hero for his act of kindness towards a homeless man facing harsh winter conditions.

Sgt. Todd Heller was captured on body camera video assisting the man on a cold night in January after discovering him holding a sign that read "waiting on a blessing" on the side of the road. In the video, Heller offers to buy the man cold weather supplies, including an insulated sleeping bag, toe warmers, and socks. He spent over $150 on these items, all taken from his own pocket.

The Gwinnett County Police department shared the heartwarming video on social media, praising Sgt. Heller for his selfless actions. In the video, Heller can be seen inviting the man into his patrol car, where they discuss the upcoming frigid temperatures forecasted for the week.

Together, they head to Walmart where Heller purchases the much-needed supplies for the homeless man. Even though he offers to buy canned goods as well, the man declines, expressing gratitude for Heller's generosity.

As they part ways in the parking lot, the homeless man thanks Sgt. Heller, who responds by reminding him that he was the blessing he had been waiting for. The video ends with a touching moment between the two as they shake hands and wish each other well.

The story has touched the hearts of many online, with the Gwinnett County Police department expressing pride in Sgt. Heller's actions, calling him a great representative of their force.
