This footage was filmed and produced 8 March 2024.

Early on the morning of March 8th, emergency responders were called to Fort Ross to assist a male who had suffered a medical emergency and was stranded in a 1000 foot ravine. The CHP H-30 helicopter, along with REACH, Coast Life Support, and fire agencies from Sonoma County, quickly mobilized to the scene.

A Sonoma County Sheriff Henry 1 Tactical Flight Officer joined forces with the H-30 crew for the rescue mission. The Henry 1 helicopter hovered above the ravine as the H-30 lowered the Tactical Flight Officer to the injured man. The patient was carefully placed in a rescue harness before being hoisted back up to the waiting Reach Helicopter.

It is important to note that the Henry 1 and H-30 crews frequently collaborate on various emergency situations throughout the North Bay region. Their teamwork, as well as thorough training and planning, ensures that even the most challenging rescues are executed smoothly. This successful coordination between state and county agencies undoubtedly saves lives.
