This footage was filmed and produced 21 January 2024.

A family-owned business in the 28000 block of Seco Canyon Road in Santa Clarita's Saugus neighborhood was ransacked by burglary suspects early Sunday morning, Jan. 21.

Seven people entered Seco Mini Market & Liquor at 5:01 am. wrecking the front door along with some of the cabinets, said store owner Deyar Alrabadi who spoke on-camera at the location.

They stole cigarettes, lottery scratchers, cash, liquor and a lot of other items. The suspects were out of the store by 5:04 a.m., according to Alrabadi.

He added that in addition to the damage done to the store, the cash registers were completely broken and needed to be replaced with new ones.

The alarm company contacted the owners at 5:02 a.m. and Alrabadi told them to send the police to the store as soon as possible. Authorities arrived in 15 minutes, but the suspects were long gone by then.

Alrabadi said everything was captured on tape and two of the suspects' faces are on camera. The rest were wearing ski masks and gloves.

Two silver vehicles – one possibly a Kia Soul, the other an SUV – were at the front of the store as seen in surveillance video from the business.

According to Alrabadi, the family has owned the store for 10 years and "never has this ever happened."

He feels it's a safe neighborhood and never would have expected this to happen in this area.

The investigation into the burglary is ongoing.
