LAFD responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash with a party trapped at the intersection of West Century Boulevard and South Western Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene, they located the driver of one of the vehicles trapped in critical condition.
The victim was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second patient was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
A third patient was also transported with unknown injuries.
LAPD South Traffic is handling the investigation into the cause of the crash.
