Israel bombs eastern Lebanon for second time since hostilities in Gaza began
This footage was filmed and produced 13 March 2024.
Israeli fighter jets bombed eastern Lebanon's Bekaa Valley on Monday in their second attack on the key stronghold of the Shi'ite Hezbollah group since the start of hostilities between the two more than five months ago, Lebanese state media reported.
At least four bombings hit different points in the vicinity of the city of Baalbek, such as the area where the Dar al Amal University Hospital in Douris is located, and others further away from the tourist town, such as the village of Shmustar, according to the public television station TeleLiban.
The National News Agency (ANN) confirmed that an Israeli aircraft attacked a residential building in a town south of Baalbek late on Monday, where smoke and flames could be seen emanating from the area.
This is the second Israeli attack in the Bekaa Valley since the start of its crossfire with Hezbollah last October, the worst clashes between the sides since their 2006 war.
The Jewish state had already attacked the vicinity of Baalbek a fortnight ago, an action it justified as a response to the earlier downing of an Israeli drone and which prompted Hezbollah to respond in turn by firing 60 simultaneous rockets at a major military barracks in northern Israel.
This footage illustrates various bombings in eastern Lebanon.
