Russian units hit Ukrainian radar with self-propelled 2S19 'Mtsa-S' howitzers
Footage shows Russian units hitting a Ukrainian radar with self-propelled 2S19 'Msta-S' howitzers.
Russia's Ministry of Defence said that the attack was carried out on the right bank of the Dnieper River in eastern Ukraine on March 11.
The ministry said: 'During a routine flight over the right bank oft he Dnieper, the operator of the unmanned complex detected the position of an enemy radar station.
'The coordinates of the enemy radar were immediately transmitted to the command post, where a decision was made to destroy it with a high-precision guided munition 'Krasnopol'.
'After receiving the command to fire at the target, the crew ofthe self-propelled artillery system 2S19 'Msta-S' fired a shot and confidently hit the radar station from 20 kilometres [12.4 miles] away.'
UAV commander called Steppe added: 'The range of tasks is quite broad, including aerial reconnaissance, artillery, and aviation adjustment, escorting enemy columns.
'The enemy is well camouflaged and constantly under surveillance; one UAV replaces another to ensure uninterrupted aerial reconnaissance.'
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
The conflict is still ongoing with public support from Europe and the United States fading and businesses reopening their ties with Russia.
Deserters have fled both countries for safer climbs in Europe and Asia.
