My name is Kayla and I am 24 years old. I just quit my job in Australia to travel the world and had a very awkward plane experience.

I awkwardly sat facing a stranger on a flight in the Philippines! It was definitely a strange experience!

When I boarded the plane I was stoked to be in row 1… until the plane seats were facing the other way and I was facing a complete stranger!

I had a two+ hour flight awkwardly facing someone and also facing the 10 rows behind them who all stared at me. I could not sleep because everyone would be able to see me! The flight was also delayed two hours on the tarmac so it was a 4 hour journey.

That also meant I took off backwards! I was sliding forward from the seat and was able to see the whole plane move.

The seats also looked like lawn chairs I have at home! Not the most comfortable seats I have sat on.

Next time I will definitely be looking at my seats prior to boarding and making sure I never have those seats again!
