A street performer dancing with fire displayed incredible professionalism when his hair accidentally caught alight and he calmly put it out.

Phone footage captured by an audience member shows two men facing opposite one another twirling fire staffs with the ends ablaze in a summer garden in Hainan, China.

Dozens of guests sat around the performers having dinner whilst enjoying the show on March 10.

At that point, one of the dancers accidentally touched his head with the flaming end of his staff, setting his hair on fire.

But instead of panicking, he calmly carried on with the show until he turned away from the audience and patted out the fire.

Two viewers who witnessed the accident reacted with astonishment at the dancer's laudable show of professionalism.

The performer said: 'I was not afraid even after knowing my head caught fire, I just had a bit of hair burned off.'

The Shangri-La Hotel in Sanya, which said it hosted the event, later responded in a comment: 'As the organiser of the event and performance, this hotel would like to express gratitude for everyone's concern about the performers

'Please rest assured that the hotel management immediately showed care and support to the performer after the performance.

'The dedication and exquisite skills of the performer are admirable.

'The hotel has officially commended the performer, and the performer is currently in good health.

'We welcome everyone to come to the Xiangzhen Amusement Park to watch his fantastic performance. Once again, thank you all for your concern.'
