The shocking moment a speeding car ploughed into a busy street market was caught on CCTV in New Delhi, India.

Footage captured on March 13 shows the vehicle speeding into a stall at a market in Mayur Vihar.

A 22-year-old woman died in the incident that left seven others injured.

The vehicle fled shortly after the crash.

In a shocking development, a speeding car rammed into a busy shopping area, killing one woman and injuring several others in northern India's Delhi.

This incident took place at the Mayur Vihar Phase 3 area on March 13.

CCTV footage captured the chilling moment when the car barged into the busy shopping area and knocked down the people.

There was a big group of people who were busy shopping in the area where there were several carts when the car rammed straight into them. Some carts were knocked aside and overturned while people were sent flying.

A normal scene soon turned into one of panic and horror as the speeding car lost control. Some people tried to protect themselves after spotting the approaching car while others who were unaware, were crushed. Soon a crowd gathered around the car which subsequently fled the spot.

According to a report, a total of seven people have suffered injuries in this accident out of which included five women. The deceased has been identified as Sita Devi, who is 22-year-old from Ghaziabad. Police informed that those injured were rushed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.
