St. Joseph's Day Fried or Baked Doughnuts - Complete Recipe
For Father's Day, we're offering our tried-and-true recipe for St. Joseph's Zeppole, made with pastry cream and baked or fried. Although baking is preferred by many, we invite you to try fried zeppole as well. Following our recipe and using the correct cooking temperature, the zeppole will not absorb oil and will be even tastier than those baked.
Zeppole are made from choux pastry (the pastry of cream puffs) and are filled with pastry cream and garnished with cherries in syrup and powdered sugar.
Try it and let us know what you think in the comments.
