This is the last return before officially announcing the starters in a few days, and the fans are committing a crime with their voting once again this year.
If the players and media don’t fix this, we’re in danger of not having a starter from either of the top 2 teams in the west, despite them having a superstar that clearly deserves to be in the starting lineup.
How in the world do you have Steph Curry on here, with 26, 4 and 5 while not even being in the play in. Number 12 at the moment. And Shai with monster numbers of 31, 5 and 6 leading the second best team in the west, is behind him.
Things are even crazier for Anthony Edwards who’s the top dog for the best team in the west, and with great numbers of 26, 5 and 5, and he’s behind guys like Irving and Harden.
I mean look at the numbers. Ant has them cleared both individually and in terms of team success. The fame that Kyrie and the beard are enjoying and the votes that they’re getting is totally disproportionate to their performance.
Do you think that Lebron has been the best player in the West so far? Absolutely not of course, so it’s a similar case with him leading the western conference in total votes.
Kawhi has better numbers than James, and of course the Clippers are 4th in the standings, while the Lakers are barely holding on to the 10th place in the play in zone.
I know that fans wanna see the popular players, familiar faces and guys that can do exciting things on the court, but if that’s the case just pick the same 5 guys every year and not even do all of this.
We have a similar situation in the east as well, where Trae Young is number 2 for the guards.
Guys like Maxey and Brunson have very comparable numbers and rank way higher in the standings than the 10th place Atlanta.
But this is especially the case with Donovan Mitchell, who’s got better overall numbers and has single handedly made the Cavaliers the hottest team in the league right now at 12 and 2 in their last 14 games. They are playing without Garland and Mobley who are injured so Mitchell is literally carrying this team to the 4th spot in the east.
He is 100% more deserving to be the starting guard.
Btw, major shoutout to Donovan. What a turnaround from that shaky start of the season when I made this video explaining how some Cavaliers fans wanted him traded.
The situation has completely flipped and it’s all credit to the phenomenal play of Mitchell.
One thing that the fans actually got right were the frontcourt players for the East.
Giannis, Embiid and Tatum- you can rank them any way you want but these are the 3 starters and there’s absolutely no debate about that.
I also love the Haliburton pick, a great combination of individual, team success and flashiness.
But for the things I previously talked about, the players and the media have a chance to make things right. And I sure hope that they’ll be able to deal with this mess that the fans have made once again this year.
I mentioned Tyrese a moment ago, and you know he’s having a good week being the top guard in the east and getting Pascal Siakam to play alongside him. I made a video breaking down just how perfect the fit will be so you gotta check out this video right here. Talk to you in the next one. Peace out.
