The ground mission of the commando unit in the neighborhood of Hamad and other areas in western Khan Yunis was a key focus in the recent operation. The ground forces, along with the air force, engaged in a coordinated ground operation.

The fighting involved raids on multi-story buildings, resulting in the elimination of over one hundred Hamas mebers and more than one hundred air strikes in close proximity to the forces.

As the forces advanced in the area, fighters from Maglan, Egoz, and Givati Reconnaissance Unit apprehended several Hamas mebers, including a commander in the enemy force. Hamas mebers provided accurate intelligence on infrastructure in the neighborhood, ambush locations, and the presence of additional Hamas mebers.

The fighters from the Givati Reconnaissance Unit arrested a Hamas operative in the Khan Yunis Brigade. During questioning, he led the forces to a terror infrastructure where around fifteen Hamas mebers were holed up. Hamas mebers were eliminated and the infrastructure was destroyed by air assets under the guidance of the forces.
