The Long Beach Police Department has released new footage showcasing the heroic actions of two officers who saved a man from jumping off a bridge in a potential suicide attempt.
The incident took place on the International Gateway Bridge in Long Beach, California at 10:40am on February 21st. Following a distress call about a man in crisis, a LBPD Port Officer and a Harbor Patrol Officer sprang into action to prevent the tragedy from unfolding.
The gripping footage demonstrates the officers' unwavering commitment to de-escalating the situation and convincing the man to reconsider his decision. Through their quick thinking and compassionate approach, they successfully talked the man down from the edge and ultimately saved his life.
