A terrified woman found a huge python coiled in her bathroom in Thailand.

Resident Wanwisa Songsakun, 33, was about to use the toilet when she noticed her pet cat staring at the ledge of the room's wall in Bangkok on March 1.

She looked up and was horrified to see the massive serpent resting near the railings.

Wanwisa ran out of the bathroom and called rescue volunteers, who then proceeded to drag the snake from its perch using snake tongs.

Footage shows the aggressive reptile coiling around the metal tool and biting it while trying to escape.

The volunteers took it back to the fire station. Officers said the python will be released into the forest, away from people's homes.

Wanwisa said: 'This is the third python that has entered my house. The first two were smaller, and I was able to drive them away on my own.

'This one is much larger. It probably came from the forest behind my house.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
