This is the thrilling moment a wild monitor lizard caused panic by entering a shop in Thailand.

The lizard sparked fear among workers at Niyom Wan coffee and bakery supplies shop in Rayong, Thailand, on February 26.

CCTV footage shows the lizard sauntering inside the shop.

Frantic workers and customers shouted and scattered in fear when they saw the lizard casually exploring the area.

They then immediately called the animal rescue team to retrieve it.

The team caught the animal outside the establishment and carefully placed it inside a sack to free it in the forest, away from people.

These reptiles have a mildly venomous bite that sometimes carries harmful bacteria. However, they are a protected species in the country.
