The work of removing the snow from the Mughal road in northern India's Jammu and Kashmir is underway with the mechanical engineering department of the government involved in the proceedings.

This road is a very important one as it connects the Rajouri and Poonch districts of the union territory and this snow clearance work started on March 13.

Visuals showed the heavy machines being used by the officials to clear out the snow from the road. The machines scraped the snow and pumped it on the side of the road. The whole area was covered with heavy snowfall and the machines helped pave the roads once again in a bid to resume movement on this path.

According to a report, this is a daily routine work of the Jammu and Kashmir government as the road is covered with thick snow every year and as a result, remains closed in the winter months. With spring slowly kicking in, the machines are deployed to clear out the snow from this path. This road passes through high mountain ridges of Pir Ki Gali. This time, it will take around two-three weeks for the mechanical engineering department to clear out the snow for traffic to resume on this road again.
