A Thai actress slammed Russian airport authorities when 7,000 USD worth of jewellery in her luggage was allegedly stolen at an airport in Moscow.

Thai celebrity Pimprapa Tangprabhaporn, also known as Pim, took to social media to criticise Russian officials who she claimed refused to help her find her missing belongings.

The actress said she arrived at the Russian capital with her sister and father on an Aeroflot flight from Murmansk on January 7.

The family waited at the baggage carousel to retrieve their bags, but Pim's luggage never appeared on the conveyor belt. She later found them at the airport's lost and found section with the baggage tag missing and the lock opened.

When she checked inside, sunglasses, a Chanel bag gifted to her by her boyfriend, and other accessories all worth 7,000 USD were gone.

Pim said she asked for help from a female Aeroflot staff - only to be met with dismissal as the worker 'made a face, looked up and rolled her eyes' at her.

Pim then rushed to the police station with her sister to file a report, adding she used a translation app and found that the police were allegedly cursing at them.

She said: 'The police accepted the matter, but I felt that they were reluctant to help. I have only watched some of the CCTV footage. The point that is open for viewing is the point of the baggage claim rail. It doesn't help at all. The police kept cursing loudly to us.

'They only concluded that the item was probably stolen at the departure airport, which is Murmansk, and thought it was an employee at that airport who stole it.

'They said that cases like this happen often every day and there's nothing that can be done about it.'

The furious celebrity said she had no choice but to give up on the missing items as she had to be in Bangkok the following day.

She added: 'Never travel to Russia again. Be careful when travelling to this country. It is very dangerous to load your luggage. The only way you can do to avoid theft is to carry valuables with you and be alert. Thieves are everywhere.'
