This is the terrifying moment a huge python slithered across a wall outside a shop in Thailand.

Footage shows the massive reptile emerging near the entrance of a cafe in Prachuap Khiri Khan on March 13.

Draped across the wall, the python flicked its tongue and slowly made its way onto the artificial grass, nearly colliding into a passer-by as it slithered into the pavement.

Wiparat Homthanon, the owner of the cafe, said: 'I called animal rescuers to catch the python, but it had already escaped into a nearby drain by the time they arrived.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
