This couple was driving through Jasper National Park in Alberta when they saw something big and light brown moving around in the trees to my left. Not knowing what they saw they turned the car around and park so they could have a better look. It turns out that it was a female grizzly bear with three cubs. While one of the cubs was staying close to mom, the other two cubs were having a great time play fighting with each other. These play fights are essential training for these bears as they will likely have to have real conflicts as adults to secure habitats, protect food resources, and also to protect their families from rivals.
