Two women detained for election day sabotage in Volgograd region
Two women were detained in the Volgograd region of Russia on March 15, 2024 the first day of voting in the presidential elections, for separate incidents of sabotage. One woman, aged 76, attempted to disrupt the polling process by lighting a pyrotechnic product inside a voting booth at a polling station in Volgograd, causing a column of smoke. The other two incidents involved a 32-year-old resident of Novonikolaevsky district and are currently under investigation by the Investigative Committee. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region revealed these details, emphasizing the swift response of law enforcement in thwarting the sabotage attempts.
