A road roller crushed hundreds of substandard motorcycle helmets in the Philippines.

Satisfying ASMR footage shows the construction equipment destroying more than 600 hard hats that were confiscated over the last seven years for being non-compliant with safety standards.

Officers from the Department of Trade and Industry used large hammers to help break the others in a symbolic gesture for the observance of the World Consumer Rights Day in the capital Manila on March 15.

DTI Assistant Secretary Amanda Marie Nograles said: ‘These confiscated items did not undergo the process of a Philippine Standard (PS) mark or an Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker. These pose dangers or a hazard to the market.'

The officer added that some of the helmets had the stickers but they were counterfeit.

Along with helmets, the seized items included fireworks, chairs, sanitary wares, and vapor product devices with a total cost of almost two million pesos (28,248.50 GBP).

World Consumer Rights Day is an annual occasion observed on March 15 to promote and raise awareness about the basic rights of consumers around the world. It was first observed in 1983 and has been an important campaign tool for consumer organizations and governments worldwide.
