This is the heartwarming moment a choking newborn baby girl is saved by quick-thinking police officers in Brazil. The incident took place in Imirim, in the North Zone of Sao Paulo, in Brazil, at around 2 pm.

The video shows two men arriving at a police station on a motorbike with the baby, with one of them reportedly the girl's father, getting off and going inside with the baby. The police officers quickly jump to their feet and one of them turns the baby over and gently pats it on the back. The distraught father sits down and can be seen cupping his hands to his head in anguish. But police officers are successful, and his relief is evident as the child apparently begins breathing as the footage ends.
Two of the officers involved in saving the baby have been named as Corporals Antonio and Goncalves and soldier Coelho.
The baby girl was subsequently taken to hospital where she is under observation.

Her father, unnamed, has thanked the military police for their help.
He said that he had left work during his lunch break to see his daughter who had begun choking and who had been turning "purple".
He said: "It all became too much and I just thought about taking my daughter and coming to the [police] base and asking for help.
"They didn't think twice about running to help with my daughter. If the police hadn't done what they did, she could have died."
Newsflash obtained a statement from the Military Police of the state of Sao Paulo confirming that a "choking newborn was saved by Military Police in Imirim, in the north of Sao Paulo."
