"I gave birth to a huge baby - he's only six months and wears 18-24-month-old clothes"
A mum's six-month-old baby is so big he's already "bursting out" of clothes designed for a two-year-old. "
Mum Ellie Mamalis, 28, gave birth to her son Dacre Mamalis in September last year.
When he was born, Dacre was normal size and weighed 3.3kg (7.3 lbs).
Now at six months, the tot weighs a whopping 10.5kg (23lbs) and has to wear clothes that would fit a two-year-old.
Ellie, a stay-at-home mum from South Australia, Australia, said: "He's wearing 18-24 month clothes and even then, he’s busting out of them."
"He’s in size six nappies, which is the biggest size they come in too."
"He’s breast fed and has only just started trying solids so he doesn’t eat enough to say that that is the reason for his chunkyness."
Ellie says that she had no idea that he was going to be a big baby with scans measuring him as being average size newborn.
Ellie said: "My whole pregnancy was normal and in all our scans he was measuring average size. "
"The pregnancy was pretty straight forward and actually flew by."
"In one of our appointments they did say he was a measuring just below the average, so I never would of predicted him becoming so huge so quickly after birth."
Despite his chunkiness, Dacre is just like any other baby and has already "his own little character."
Ellie said: "Dacre’s the sweetest happiest baby. He has a little personality already. "
"He loves a good snuggle and kiss and loves watching everything his big brother does. "
"He’s always giggling at his brother or when we play peekaboo."
