NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrived in Tbilisi on Monday. The government administration hosted a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, after which joint statements were made to the media.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confused Tbilisi and Baku at a press conference in the Georgian capital.
"It is good to return to Baku and it is good to be here again, because it shows how much we value the partnership between Georgia and NATO," he said, standing next to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. Stoltenberg did not notice his mistake.
Neither the Georgian Prime Minister, nor journalists, nor members of the NATO delegation corrected him, which usually happens with such reservations by European officials at briefings in Brussels.
Journalists were not given the opportunity to ask questions.
