A deliveryman suffered a tragic fall into an elevator shaft while on duty in eastern China.

The CCTV footage was captured in Wenzhou City in Zhejiang Province on March 12.

It was revealed that the incident took place in a factory building where the hallway was poorly lit and lacked proper barriers. While navigating his way, Mr. Ke accidentally stepped into the elevator shaft under construction, resulting in the fall.

Following the accident, Ke urgently dialed the emergency number for help.

Firefighters promptly arrived at the scene to conduct the rescue operation. However, due to the depth of the elevator shaft and Ke's severe spinal injury, which left him immobile, the rescue posed significant challenges.

Ultimately, with the coordinated efforts of multiple firefighters, Ke was carefully lifted onto a stretcher and successfully rescued before being transported to the hospital for treatment.

On March 16th, Ke responded, mentioning the absence of any barriers around the elevator shaft. After stepping into the void, he plummeted from the second floor to the first floor in an instant. Sustaining a fractured spine, he underwent his first surgery and is currently recuperating in the hospital.
