This is the moment a storm tore away a home's roof in northeast Thailand.

Footage shows strong winds dismantling the wooden shack amid a downpour in Buriram province northeast of the capital Bangkok on March 18.

Sheets of corrugated iron were sent flying as locals ran for safety.

The Thai Meteorological Department forecasted scattered thunderstorms with gust and hail in the country's northern and northeastern regions from March 19.

The agency said: 'During 19 – 20 Mar, another moderate high-pressure system from China will extend to upper Thailand and the South China Sea while the easterly and southeasterly winds bring the moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf to the upper country where hot to very hot weather occurs.'
