A resourceful driver used wooden sticks as a makeshift cargo trailer to transport a water storage pot in Thailand.

Po Yai, 73, had bought the large container to store water for his garden in Uthai Thani province on March 18. However, staff refused to deliver it to home fearing they might break it during transit.

The quick-thinking resident then cobbled together a makeshift trailer using eucalyptus logs and rope.

Footage shows Po Yai's pickup truck dragging the massive pot as he navigated through narrow streets and tight bends on his way home.

He said: ‘I bought this pot and wanted to take it home, but nobody wanted to help me move it. My house is only 3 kilometres away from the shop. They were worried they might break the pot, so they didn't want to help. I decided to move it by myself.

'In the past, we used to do this all the time, moving heavy things with wooden carts.'

Onlooker Pachara Passakun said: ‘Everyone was impressed with the old man's idea. Even when he turned his truck, the pot moved smoothly with it. He was able to bring the pot home without damaging it or the road.'
