Close Call: Black Car Runs Red Light Nearly Involved in Serious Accident
MESA, ARIZONA - FEBRUARY 1: Rash driver runs a red light and risks a horrific accident at an intersection on February 1, 2023 in Mesa, Arizona, USA. When approaching an intersection with a yellow light, many drivers mistakenly believe it means to exercise caution. In reality, it means to clear the intersection before the light turns red. This allows drivers already in the intersection to clear the way safely. In the accompanying video, we can see an example of a driver following this rule by stopping at the yellow light. Meanwhile, the car behind changes lanes and proceeds through the intersection, running the now-red light. This results in a fairly dangerous situation where the driver just manages to avoid a collision. Fortunately, no one got hurt.
