Fire Erupts at Chemical Plant in Chicago, IL, USA

A fire broke out on March 18 afternoon at an industrial compound in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. The incident occurred at a chemical plant located at 4650 S. Racine Ave., which serves as the headquarters and manufacturing plant for Vantage Specialty Chemicals' oleochemicals.
Witnesses reported seeing smoke billowing from a cooling tower at the plant, prompting concerns about potential hazards from the fire.
Fortunately, the fire was quickly extinguished by 2:15 p.m. and there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.
