Dramatic footage shows a tree suddenly crashing to the ground and crushing a couple of vehicles and a set of traffic lights in Rome.

The filmer, who captured this on their dashcam, said: "On March 19 at 11:00 am, while my employees and I were heading towards the workplace, we were stopped at the traffic light when suddenly, as soon as it turned green, we witnessed the sudden collapse of a tree in the middle of the road, which crushed two vehicles.

"Fortunately, no deaths or injuries were reported. The cause of this accident still remains unclear, as the tree appeared to only be leaning and did not present any signs of imminent danger."
