A major accident has taken place in Supaul, Bihar, in which a part of the country's largest road bridge being built on the Kosi River has collapsed on march 22.

The garters of 50, 51 and 52 pillars of this bridge being built between Bakour of Supaul and Bheja Ghat Madhubani have fallen on the ground. Many people are reported to have been injured in this incident.

Supaul DM Kaushal Kumar has confirmed the death of 1 person and injuries to 10 people. In this accident, the condition of 3 people is said to be critical and they are being treated in a private clinic, although DM and SP are camping at the spot.

Local people also say that more than 20 people may be buried under the debris. The local people are very angry after the incident. At present, relief work has not been started yet after the collapse of the garter of the bridge between Bakour and Bhaj. The administration team is definitely present here, but due to it being in the middle of Kosi, sufficient equipment is not able to reach the incident area. In such a situation, a lot of difficulties are being faced in relief and rescue.

This bridge being built under Bharat Mala Project is one of the big schemes of the Central Government. The country's longest bridge is being built here, which is being built by the Union Ministry of Transport and Highways at a cost of Rs 1200 crore.
